چکیده
0.2. Structure of the proof. 1. As in [dJ], we choose a projection X 99K P of relative dimension 1, and apply semistable reduction to obtain a model X ′ → B over a suitable Galois base change B → P , with Galois group G. 2. We apply induction on the dimension to B , therefore we may assume that B is smooth, and that the discriminant locus of X ′ → B is a G-strict divisor of normal crossings. 3. A few auxiliary blowups make the quotient X /G toroidal. 4. Theorem 11* of [KKMS] about toroidal resolutions finishes the argument.

Application of Multi-objective Optimization for Optimization of Half-toroidal Continuously Variable Transmission
Among different goals defined in vehicle design process, fuel consumption (FC) is one of the most important objectives, which significantly has taken into account lately, both by the customers and vehicle manufacturers. One of the significant parameters which impacts the vehicle FC is the efficiency of vehicle's power train. In this paper, a half-toroidal continuously variable transmission (CVT...
متن کاملToroidal Crossings and Logarithmic Structures
We generalize Friedman’s notion of d-semistability, which is a necessary condition for spaces with normal crossings to admit smoothings with regular total space. Our generalization deals with spaces that locally look like the boundary divisor in Gorenstein toroidal embeddings. In this situation, we replace d-semistability by the existence of global log structures for a given gerbe of local log ...
متن کاملModelling and Optimization of Toroidal Continuously Variable Transmission in ECE Driving Cycle
In the present study, the aim is to optimize full and half toroidal continuously variable transmission (CVT) in order to minimize the vehicle fuel consumption (FC) in ECE driving cycle. First, the model of both CVTs’ efficiency is presented. The control strategy of CVTs speed ratio based on minimizing the vehicle FC is introduced, and the algorithm of calculating the vehicle FC is shown. Afterw...
متن کاملOn the Smoothness of Functors
In this paper we will try to introduce a good smoothness notion for a functor. We consider properties and conditions from geometry and algebraic geometry which we expect a smooth functor should has.
متن کاملDegeneration of Kähler-Einstein Manifolds II: The Simple Toroidal Case
This work is a sequel of [6]. In algebraic geometry, when discussing the compactification of the moduli space of complex manifoldX with ample canonical bundle KX , it is necessary to consider holomorphic degeneration family π : X → B, where Xt = π (t) are smooth except for t = 0, such that the canonical bundle of Xt for t 6= 0 and the dualizing sheaf of X0 are ample. We will call such degenerat...
